Islamabad police shell PTI workers near Bani Gala

Police on Sunday shelled Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers trying to make their way to Bani Gala prior to the party’s Nov 2 ‘lockdown’ of Islamabad.

Party workers were trying to reach the party chief’s Bani Gala residence via a lesser-known route, police said, adding that PTI workers are finding various routes to reach the location.

When a contingent of police led by Senior Superintendent Police Operations Sajid Kiyani reached the workers, the workers began stoning the police, after which police began using tear gas shells to disperse the party workers.

Party workers set a fire in the surrounding wilderness, police said.
