PIA's London-Karachi flight cancelled over technical problems: spokesman

Pakistan Global Airways (PIA) flight PK-788 from London to Karachi used to be cancelled on Sunday because of technical problems, PIA spokesman Danyal Gilani stated.

The passengers have been supplied lodge lodging and the flight will take off from London’s Heathrow Airport Monday night (UK time), Gilani added.

The cancellation coincides with PIA’s determination to floor all of its 10 ATR planes in its fleet after the Civil Aviation Authority directed that shakedown checks of the plane be performed.

The CAA issued the directive six days after a PIA plane went down close to Havelian killing all 47 other folks on board and some other ATR-42 flight of the airline grabbed headlines when its pilot aborted the take-off of the Multan-Karachi flight because of some fault in considered one of its engines.
