Global's first three person baby born in UK

A five-month old baby has become the world’s first three person baby born through a new fertility technique, reported the BBC on Tuesday.

The baby, Abrahim Hassan, has DNA from his parents in addition to a small piece of genetic code from a donor.

The new fertility technique was used by doctors in the US to ensure Abrahim would not inherit a genetic condition which his Jordanian mother carriers in her genes.

The move heralds a new era in medicine and genetic science, says experts.
